We’ve all been following Donald Trump’s rise to power among the ranks of the deplorably ignorant in America. We all know how he got there. He got there by pandering to the primal instincts of assholes who love to watch him win the insult-a-thon he’s turned presidential politics into. It’s not a secret; it’s what he does.
Trump’s policy positions are so simplistic that even his followers can understand them. “We’re going to do it better. We’re going to make America Great. I built a great company.” These are Trump’s answers to questions ranging from “How would you deal with poverty” to “What would you have done differently with the Iran deal.” The reality is, he has no policy. He has insults.
Now, Hillary Clinton made the “basket of deplorables” insult, which covers, as she explained it, about 21 percent of Americans, which is a low estimate if you’ve ever spent time in Trump supporter social media circles. Donald Trump, the master of crass, has decided that insulting people and not talking about policy isn’t the way to run a campaign. Watching him actually say it is just about the most unbelievable thing you’ll hear this week:
You have to love how Morning Joe and Mika have taken to tearing the Trump turd to pieces. It’s always such a joy to watch.
