Eric Gillespie is no rocket scientist. A brief perusal of his Twitter timeline reveals that he thinks Hillary Clinton wore an “illegal earpiece” at the first presidential debate, God wants Trump to be President, and that he hates Hillary Clinton very much. But he became so much more than a likely meth-addled mess of a human being when he decided to tweet the dumbest f*cking thing Fox News host Brit Hume has probably every heard.
“Are you going to report on Hillarys teleprompter and Lesters ear piece during the debate?” Gillespie asked in his ridiculous tweet. Now Hume could have ignored this mindless spouting of conspiracy theories — but instead he decided to become the hero of the day by putting Mr. Gillespie in his place.
“No,” Hume wrote. “We’re too busy working on story about Hillary getting special instructions through her fillings.”
Then things got crazy when a self-described “ardent Trump supporter” took him seriously — at first praising Hume for his integrity in investigating Clinton’s filling-messages, then attempting to play it off like she doesn’t rival Mr. Gillespie for dumbest person on the thread.
Then things got downright hilarious when the rest of the internet showed up to join in the mockery:

.@brithume Whoa. She's had fillings? Release dental records now!

Who knew Hume had it in him to simultaneously smack down someone his network is going out of the way to prop up and be so goddamn hilarious when doing it?
This may seem funny, but it is important to remember that Mr. Gillespie, like you, has the right to vote — and he’ll be out there. Make sure you are, too.
