The United States has been quite an “interesting” place this week. Following the election of Donald Trump, the most dangerous man to ever run for the presidency, many Americans have been trying to figure out how they can get out of the country. Lots of people are leaning towards moving to Canada, so many in fact that their immigration website crashed from the traffic on Tuesday night as the election results came rolling in.
After getting a multitude of requests asking how to get into Canada, one weatherman just said what the hell and told viewers exactly how to get to the border, complete with very specific driving directions.
On air, the weatherman told those watching in the Tulsa area what the fastest route to Canada was. “Let me give you the quickest and directest route to Canada from Tulsa. You leave out of Tulsa here,” he said, pointing to the map. He then listed the highways that would get you straight to the Canadian border. While others in the studio laughed in the background, the weatherman reprimanded them and said this was “important stuff.”
After directing viewers to the Canadian border, the weatherman reminded those fleeing a Trump presidency to “make sure you’ve got either your card or your passport to get into Canada.”
The idea of living under Trump’s rule is truly terrifying. It is no wonder people are contemplating where they can go and the exact specifics of how they would go about immigrating to a new country. Canada seems to be the top choice, but some people are also considering moving to various other places around the globe. Ireland has already offered to take in American refugees fleeing a Trump presidency. To be honest, I can’t say that I haven’t been looking at all the options myself.
