Recently, Ghana became the first African country to allow people of African descent from all over the world to resettle. Since much of the United States can be described as a raging hellpit of hatred and racism (Let’s face it: The GOP didn’t nominate a man who has the open support of the KKK in a vacuum), that whole “go back to Africa” thing racists have been spewing since Jesus wrote the Constitution might actually seem appealing to some, especially with the possibility of a Trump presidency on the horizon.
Larry Mitchell, of Indiana, created a GoFundMe that gives Trump supporters and other assorted bigots the opportunity to fund his emigration to Ghana:
Send me “back” to Africa fund… If you want me to go back to Africa I will gladly go… you can help make your dream and mine come true… accepting all donations… KKK, Skin Heads and anyone else with like mind thinking are welcome to donate… Thank you.. God bless you and America… #putyourmoneywhereyourhateis
As of 3:44 a.m. Eastern time, Mitchell has raised almost $700. Most donations were left by well-wishers, but one gentleman calling himself “fedup whiteguy” kicked in $5 and told the Africa-bound man, “you better not come back.”
Bet he’s fun at parties.
“Where are all you people at? I constantly read comments online from thousands of people saying they will gladly pay the way back to Africa. $25 in 5 days is all? Put your money where your mouths are. No wonder he wants to go you cannot even trust white people to commit to their hate,” one commenter wrote.
Mitchell may get a trip to Africa out of this, but it won’t be because racists are willing to show the strength of their convictions and send him there.
