Bruce Springsteen is “The Boss” and for good reason. He has long written music about social injustices and is a seasoned Democrat. From hits like “Born in the USA,” a song which serves as an indictment of America’s war machine and how it simply disposes of vets to a slightly lesser known song titled “American Skin (41 Shots)” which addresses police brutality, specifically the case of Amadou Diallo in New York City – Springsteen doesn’t shy away from politics.
So it comes as no surprise that he didn’t shy away from a fan’s request at last night’s concert in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. An audience member handed a request to Springsteen. The Boss stepped up to his mic at Consol Energy Center and spoke of what he received:
Someone gave me a copy of the Constitution of the United States. It does say ‘Fuck Trump’ on the front of it. And this was his request.
The song requested? “Long Walk Home” for which Springsteen wrote to express his feelings during George W. Bush’s presidency. He told New York Times of the song:
The singer in ‘Long Walk Home,’ that’s his experience. His world has changed. The things that he thought he knew, the people who he thought he knew, whose ideals he had something in common with, are like strangers. The world that he knew feels totally alien. I think that’s what’s happened in this country in the past six years.
The crowd can be heard on the video below exploding in applause and cheers for the shot at the Republican Presidential Candidate. There is no question that the remarks are well deserved.

And that’s how it’s done – just like the Boss that he is.
Although, we can’t help but wonder, how is Trump’s new BFF and alleged long-time Springsteen fan, Chris Christie taking to this news? Ha!!
