CNN host Alisyn Camerota was totally floored when her Trump supporting guests proclaimed that they firmly believe California “allowed” three million people to vote. And, of course, it’s all Obama’s fault.
Camerota has met with this particular group of panelists several times throughout the campaign season, and each time they have proven to have some very “interesting” ideas. Her most recent discussion with the panel was no exception to this rule.
As they began to discuss the mass protests that have gripped the nation in the wake of the election, things took an unexpected turn when the panelists began touting the conspiracy theory that millions of people had voted in the election illegally. (They didn’t.)
“Some of them didn’t even vote,” Johnson quipped. “Voting is privilege in this country and you need to be legal, not like California where three million illegals voted.”
“Let’s talk about that,” Camerota said, obviously befuddled by this bullshit statement.
“I’m glad I brought that up,” Johnson said, obviously pleased with herself.
“Where are you getting your information?” Camerota asked, unable to hide her confusion.
“From the media!” Johnson declared emphatically. “Some of them were CNN, I believe.”
“Do you think that three million illegal people voted?” Camerota asked.
“I believe in California that there were illegals that voted,” Johnson stated.
“Do you think three dozen or do you think three million?” the CNN host asked for clarification.
“I think there was a good amount because the president told people that they could vote,” Johnson said, because of course it’s all Obama’s fault. Everything is Obama’s fault. “They said, ‘The president said I could vote. I’m here illegally.’”
“Did you hear the president say illegal people could vote?” Camerota asked after picking her jaw up from the floor.
“Yes!” shouted everyone on the panel.
Camerota was quite clearly shocked at the level of stupidity she found herself faced with, but the panel wasn’t quite done defending their ridiculous assertions.
“Google it, you can find it on Facebook,” one of the panelists exclaimed.
Camerota proceeded to debunk the absurd claims of the Trump supporters, but they weren’t buying it. To hell with facts. The CNN host asked the panel one more time: “You think that millions of illegal people voted in this country, you believe that there was widespread voting abuse?”
“California allows it,” Johnson declared.
At that point, you can clearly see Camerota just give up. The idiocy surrounding her was just too much.
“They do not allow illegal [voting],” Camerota said in exasperation, just before a facepalm.
