What do you think of, when you think of the September 11th terrorist attacks? Dread? Loss? Pain? There’s a lot of bad stuff associated with it, and anyone who is old enough to remember that day won’t ever forget any of the things they felt.
Then, there’s a few of us who view things differently. These people are unnatural. When they think of 911, they grow wistful. Fond memories of that day emerge for various perverse and strange reasons. Mental sickness? Evil soul? Who the hell really knows? I don’t want to understand it myself, because it means that my brain would work like theirs.
Former Bush doofus and overall terrible person, Ari Fleischer, sent out a message celebrating 9/11 in true Republican form. His undiluted admiration for what happened that day was made clear in the message below:
We captured an image of the tweet in case he realizes how bad it is. Ari wishes that our younger generation could go back in time and experience the greatest national tragedy in the history of the United States. Let’s subject a new generation to the real-time horror of that day. Right?
How a person can celebrate what happened on 911 is beyond me. A tragedy is not “astounding.” It’s a freakin’ tragedy. It’s horrific. It isn’t something about which one should fondly reminisce.
If you really think objectively about it, though, you can at least understand why a Republican would think of 9/11 as the “good old days.” 9/11 gave them an extremely valuable gift. That gift was a population that was ready to give up its rights to be “safe.” It was a society that was ready to support war without reason or a plan. It was a people prepared to look the other way as we tortured our prisoners and abandoned the pursuit of Osama bin Laden, while we engaged in an illegal for-profit war that had no Republican ever shouting about “fiscal responsibility.”
Yeah, I can see how a Republican wishes everyone had the trauma of 9/11 imprinted on them. They especially wish that it was on our children. They want to get to them when they’re young and vulnerable so they can corrupt a new generation to take us further down the toilet.
