Donald Trump typically goes to nearly all-white areas to reach out to black voters. It doesn’t make sense but that’s what the GOP presidential nominee is doing. Donald’s supporters love the way the hotel magnate talks down to African-Americans while offering his white crowd false statics about poverty in the black community.
Fox News host Chris Wallace took Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway to task.
“Donald Trump has also been reaching out to African-Americans this week, asking, what do you have to lose after decades of Democratic neglect?,” Wallace said.
Wallace then runs a clip showing Donald saying, “Poverty, rejection, horrible education, no housing, no homes, no ownership, crime at levels that nobody’s seen.”
That’s when Wallace threw down a truth bomb on Conway.
“But, Kellyanne, that totally misrepresents what blacks face in this country. Trump says black youth unemployment is 58 percent,” the Fox host said. “It’s actually 19 percent. Twenty-six percent of blacks live in poverty. That’s not good. But the vast majority do not.”
“How can Trump address the problem when he doesn’t seem to understand what it really is?,” Wallace asked.
Conway said, “So as I understand it, Chris, the 58 percent refers to the number of African-American youth who are not working.”
“But you’re right. We’re also taking our message to African-Americans who are concerned about other things like lending, like housing, like discrimination,” she said. “They may be unsafe. They may live in safe neighborhoods with fine schools, but it certainly isn’t what their children deserve. They deserve the same high-quality education as other children. And that’s his point,” Conway continued.
Wallace also noted that Donald has never held an event in an area populated by a large African-American community. Wallace also hammered Conway for the GOP presidential candidate using a tragedy as fodder to tout his campaign. Dwyane Wade’s cousin was fatally shot and Donald has repeatedly brought the tragedy up to feign support from the black community.
It’s adorable that Conway claims that Donald is concerned over housing and discrimination. We’re so glad she brought that up.
In 1975, Donald faced a lawsuit brought by the Department of Justice:
When an African American showed up to rent an apartment owned by a young real-estate scion named Donald Trump and his family, the building superintendent did what he claimed he’d been told to do. He allegedly attached a separate sheet of paper to the application, marked with the letter “C.”
“C” for “Colored.”
It’s also interesting that Donald hired Breitbart News chairman Stephen K. Bannon, and yet, that site is now famously known to support the Alt-Right, a racist faction of conservative voters.
Conway said that people think Hillary is “corrupt” while Donald has so many pending lawsuits. It’s a classic case of projection. Well done, Kellyanne, well done.
