Ivanka Trump has a hard life. I mean, sure she’s filthy rich and can buy whatever she wants but that money doesn’t exactly come free. She is forced to put up with her father’s creepy sex obsession with her…in public…all the time. And she is also the most well-known face (besides Trump’s orange noggin) of his presidential campaign and with that comes the awful responsibility of answering questions about Creep Creepistein. Recently, Ivanka was answering some of those incredibly difficult questions during an interview with the hard-hitting journalists over at Cosmopolitan when she got super angry and cut the interview short.
Earlier this week Donald and Ivanka rolled out his childcare plan to America. Of course, being the misogynist he is, he asked his daughter to try to sell voters on his plan (cause apparently boys don’t also have children) and in her quest to make daddy happy she spoke with Cosmo’s Prachi Gupta. The conversation was going well until Gupta had the audacity to ask her about her father’s past comments about child care and maternity leave. Specifically, Gupta asked:
In 2004, Donald Trump said that pregnancy is an inconvenient thing for a business. It’s surprising to see this policy from him today. Can you talk a little about those comments, and perhaps what has changed?
When confronted with daddy dearest’s real feelings about women in the workplace, Ivanka blustered. She responded with the typical Trump defense of “you’re being a big meanie pants for accurately quoting The Donald”:
So I think that you have a lot of negativity in these questions, and I think my father has put forth a very comprehensive and really revolutionary plan to deal with a lot of issues. So I don’t know how useful it is to spend too much time with you on this if you’re going to make a comment like that. My father obviously has a track record of decades of employing women at every level of his company, and supporting women, and supporting them in their professional capacity, and enabling them to thrive outside of the office and within. To imply otherwise is an unfair characterization of his track record and his support of professional women…
Damn that horrible Gupta and her super negative and completely relevant questions!
Gupta responded to Ivanka’s whining by apologizing but also pointing out that what her father said in the past is fair game when he is running for president of the United States. Still pissed off, Donald’s golden child (and weird sexual fantasy) answered a couple more questions and then cut the interview off.
It’s not surprising that a Trump got upset when confronted with reality and it is even less surprising that they threw a shit fit about it. This is what the Trumps do. They lie and lie and lie and lie and then when someone calls them out for their bullshit, they claim that the person who is looking for the truth is “unfair.” That’s why The Donald is so popular with the GOP base; they do the exact same thing. The right-wing spends their days persecuting innocent people for no reason other than ignorance but when we try to stop them, they claim that we are taking away their rights. It’s pathetic, really and also why we need to vote blue in November. Don’t let this family move into the White House and fuck our country up–our children deserve better than that.
