Monday night, Hillary Clinton and Jimmy Kimmel joked about rumors of the Democratic presidential candidate’s bad health. To prove she was healthy to Kimmel and his audience, the late night host had Clinton open a jar of pickles in a light-hearted skit.
That skit set off conspiracy theorist Alex Jones of Infowars who set out to prove Kimmel had rigged the can for Clinton in order to make it appear like she wasn’t dying of seizures/strokes/dysphasia/syphilis/whatever. It’s always a conspiracy with Jones, who spent seven minutes caught up on the pickle act, which Kimmel thought was hilarious, saying:
As you know many of Hillary Clinton’s opponents have been questioning whether she’s healthy enough to be president. So when she was here, I challenged her to open a jar of pickles to see if she was strong enough to do it. And she did and all hell broke loose. Thousands of people, maybe even millions, are convinced that I somehow rigged the pickle jar.
After showing clips of Jones opening a pickle “can,” as Jones kept referring to it, and Jones ranting about how there was no ‘pop’ of the lid, Kimmel knows he’s been caught in a “canspiracy.”
Jones says on his show:
There’s no pop when she opens it and she acts like she has to turn it all the way around like she’s opening a can of peanut butter.
‘She acts like it pops at the end. This is completely and totally fake.’
Kimmel tells the audience that if they’re ever feeling bad about their jobs, there is a seven-minute video of a grown man accusing him of rigging a jar of pickles.
You just had to keep digging, didn’t you Alex? The plan was so simple, all Hillary had to do was open the jar of pickles and the White House would be all ours. Mine and hers. We had it all worked out. This went all the way up to Vlasic.
In order to silence the jar of pickles, who Kimmel said undoubtedly would be subpoenaed, he had no choice but to kill the pickles, telling Jones, “The juice of these pickles is on your hands.” With that, he shoots the jar of pickles and tells Jones, “The New World Order sends its regards.”
Jones has been one of the main platforms for which most of these rumors about Clinton’s bad health have been emerging. His pickle ‘canspiracy’ video was viewed by 174k people at the time of publication. In that video he brought out a large can of Vlasic pickles and hilariously couldn’t open the jar, claiming he had a hand injury, which undoubtedly was Hillary Clinton’s fault.
