If you need one more reason to vote against Donald Trump, other than his hair, here is a big one for you: Trump’s education plan was analyzed by the Center for American Progress Action Fund and the results are seriously terrifying.
It’s less of an “education plan” and more of a “plan for education.” What I mean is that it’s a plan on how to murder the American education system, while fleecing the American public of approximately $70 billion to pay for tax giveaways in his “billionaires first” tax plan.
Some of the hardest-hit areas would be poor, rural school districts. Coincidentally, these are the most “Republican” areas in the nation as well. It really isn’t surprising that Republicans continue to support people who actively hate them, but now they’re supporting people who also actively hate their children. Will they ever learn?
The catastrophe that half a million teachers lost can’t be understated. It amounts to approximately 15 percent of the total amount of teachers we have nationwide. An economic downturn of 500,000 jobs would not only negate 2-3 months of job growth in America, but it would also eliminate what are normally solid middle-class jobs with greater than normal job security. Then, there is the risk of over a TRILLION dollars in student loans. That kind of massive bust would fall heaviest on the colleges and universities that can least afford it.
Community colleges and smaller schools where daddy doesn’t pay for everything would encounter massive shortfalls risking their total bankruptcy and possible closure. Millions of students nationwide would suddenly have their future careers thrown into the trash bin by Trump, and they’d have no alternative.
When will people learn? Republicans have screwed adults for generations now, sending their money, jobs, financial security and retirements overseas to China, while dumping the profits from it in a hole in the Cayman Islands. Now, they’re coming for their children. Will they keep voting for this nonsense? Sadly, we all know the answer to that.
