A couple of weeks ago, the woman who filed sexual assault charges against Donald Trump and billionaire Jeffrey E. Epstein but promised to refile the suit with “additional witnesses.” On Friday, that is exactly what happened.
“Jane Doe,” as she is called, refiled her lawsuit in The U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. Her lawyer, Thomas F. Meagher, has amended the complaint to include a new witness. The suit claims that Trump and Epstein raped her in the 1990s when she was just 13-years-old. A second woman, known as “Tiffany Doe” claims that she saw the two men rape the plaintiff multiple times. Now the suit has a second witness, known as “Joan Doe” who alleges:
In the 1994-95 school year, I was told by the plaintiff in Jane Doe v. Trump and Epstein (1:16-cv-04642, SDNY) that the plaintiff was subject to sexual contact by the Defendants at parties in New York City during the summer of 1994.
Trump and his attorneys deny the accusations and have even threatened to sue the lawyer who filed the claim. On Saturday, after the lawsuit was refiled, Trump’s attorney Alan Garten said,”As I have said before, the allegations are categorically untrue and an obvious publicity stunt aimed at smearing my client. In the event we are actually served this time, we intend to move for sanctions for this frivolous filing.”
Now, do we know if these accusations are true? No. But there are some things we do know. First of all, this is clearly not about these women trying to get famous, if it were they would not be anonymous in the lawsuit. Second, we know that Donald Trump has made inappropriate comments about teenage girls before. We recently covered a story about how Trump told Howard Stern that he was attracted to Paris Hilton when she was 12-years-old — just one year younger than the victim at the time of her alleged assault. We also know that he has made super creepy comments about his daughter. Knowing all of this, it certainly doesn’t look good for Trump.
But this is the guy Republicans want to run the country, all while calling Bill Clinton a rapist.
