Keith Olbermann is back if you didn’t hear the news already. Thank God he is, because our mainstream news and media are a TOTAL FAILURE this election. Hillary Clinton called half of Trump’s supporters racist. The media went after her with the long knives as a result.
Let’s not talk about all the white power people supporting Trump. Let’s ignore his own racist bullshit that he’s been spewing for over a year now. Let’s just focus on the fact Hillary made some racist jackasses butthurt because she called them exactly what they are.
That is the failure of our media in a nutshell. Instead of our news sources having the courage to call a spade a spade and say Hillary is right, they turn shrinking violet and play the “both sides have a valid opinion on this” card. Oh the offensiveness of calling racists racists…. bla bla bla.
Luckily, we have just a few news people who are not being forced or choosing to pander to this both sides are equally honorable people business model. Keith is one of them. In his new show on GQ, he has the freedom of expression that our news people have exchanged for ratings and it allowed him to say what needs to be said.
Keith shared his thoughts on Hillary’s comment, and ended up disagreeing with her. 50 percent of Trump’s supporters are not racist. The truth is far worse.
Secretary Clinton originally postulated that half of Trump’s supporters were NOT deplorable — and that’s where she screwed up. Because if you support Trump, if you think he should be president regardless of how much he and his advocates hate, and mock, and punch old women with portable oxygen canisters, if you’re not condemning this madness and repudiating these deplorable people, and you are not racist, not sexist, not homophobic, not xenophobic or not Islamophobic, if you’re supporting him not for those things, but in spite of them… you are even more deplorable.
The correct number, Secretary Clinton, is not 50 percent. It’s a hundred.
That’s damn right. Thank you Keith for saying what our media are afraid to say.
