Michelle Obama is an amazing First Lady. During her time by her husband’s side in the White House, she has been responsible for numerous initiatives dedicated to children and women’s health, as well as a number of other admirable causes. She has gracefully deflected an untold numbers of disgusting right-wing attacks and has always been a wonderful example to young women. She’s someone that anyone should wish to emulate — including, apparently, Melania Trump.
On Monday, Donald Trump’s wife spoke to an enthusiastic crowd of racists, racists pretending not to be racists, white supremacist sympathizers, and people who kind of just wandered in after huffing paint fumes out of a paper bag, at the sh*tshow that is the 2016 Republican National Convention. The day’s lineup included Joni Ernst, Tom Cotton, one of the Duck Guys, some guy who thinks Hillary Clinton is a “c*nt,” and a smorgasbord of the absolute worst our society has to offer — but one of the crowning moments was more subtle than the numerous calls for Hillary Clinton’s arrest simply because she is a political enemy and all of the other ridiculous bullsh*t that happened during the annual gathering of the Stupid Part of America.
Melania Trump, in an apparent attempt to appear like she actually deserves to be our First Lady, blatantly stole a passage from one of Michelle Obama’s speeches. This little detail was caught by journalist Jarrett Hill, who posted about it on Twitter:

Here’s what Melania said:
From a young age, my parents impressed on me the values that you work hard for what you want in life, that your word is your bond and you do what you say and keep your promise, that you treat people with respect. They taught and showed me morals in their daily life. That is the lesson that I continue to pass along to our son. And we need to pass those lessons on to many generations to follow because we want our children in this nation to know that the only limit to your achievements is the strength of your dreams and your willingness to work for them.
Apparently, Trump is unaware that people caught her plagiarism. Asked about her speech, she proudly declared, “I wrote it.” She did not mention the striking similarities between the words of the current First Lady and herself.
