“You know I’m automatically attracted to beautiful — I just start kissing them. It’s like a magnet. Just kiss. I don’t even wait. And when you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything. Grab them by the p—y, you can do anything.”
We’ve all heard that quote over and over since the Access Hollywood tape was released one week ago. And since then, numerous women have come forward to accuse Donald Trump of exactly what he described doing in that tape.
Today, another accuser has come forward claiming Trump boldly groped her in a nightclub as he sat next to her while she chatted with friends.
“You can do anything.”
Kristin Anderson says she was talking with acquaintances at a crowded Manhattan nightclub, unaware of who was seated next to her on a couch. Anderson says her friend was to her left, and unbeknownst to her Trump was to her right. Without so much as an introduction, Anderson says all of a sudden she felt someone’s hands go up under her miniskirt and touch her vulva through her underwear.
Anderson says she brushed the hand away and jumped off the couch, and got her first good look at the person next to her.
He was so distinctive looking — with the hair and the eyebrows. I mean, nobody else has those eyebrows.”
She immediately recognized him as Donald Trump. Her friend also recognized him as Donald Trump. Anderson says she said to her friend:
Okay, Donald is gross. We all know he’s gross. Let’s just move on.”
And they left the scene. Anderson later added that the incident made her feel like a “stuffed animal on a couch.”
“When you’re a star, they let you do it.”
At the time, which was in the 1990s, Anderson was in her twenties working as a makeup artist and restaurant hostess trying to make it as a model. Trump was a celebrity plastered all over tabloids.
“You know I’m automatically attracted to beautiful.”
Anderson had recalled the story to several friends well before Trump ever announced he would be running for president. One friend Kathy Stedman, who Anderson told about the incident a few days after it happened, told the Washington Post:
‘We were out at a girls’ brunch’ at the Great Jones Cafe in Manhattan, Stedman said, recalling that when she and two other friends heard the story, they found themselves ‘laughing at how pathetic it was’ on Trump’s part.
Anderson’s boyfriend, Brad Trent, said he heard the story in March 2007:
It was just girls saying stories about how they got hit on by creepy old guys, that’s when I found out about it.
Anderson says when she saw the video the incident that left her baffled suddenly made more sense:
It wasn’t a sexual come-on. I don’t know why he did it. It was like just to prove that he could do it, and nothing would happen. There was zero conversation. We didn’t even really look at each other. It was very random, very nonchalant on his part.
Anderson also says she found the tape nauseating because the woman in the video had no idea what she was walking into:
I watched this woman — who could have been me; it could have been anyone — walk in and shake his hand. That was just nauseating, because she has no idea what she was walking into, and what could possibly happen to her. And that’s just wrong.
Anderson says she’s coming out now just to give these other accusers, such as the women in the New York Times and People magazine writer, some support.
Republicans are having a hard time believing these women’s stories, even though Trump described them to the letter. Even though he had a case in court for groping a woman in 1997. Even though Trump refers to his own beloved daughter as a “piece of ass.” Even though he has been accused by multiple pageant contestants — some at the teen level — of walking in while all the women are changing, and Trump bragged about it on Howard Stern. Even though Trump has an upcoming case involving sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl. Even though Trump is on tape telling a 10-year-old girl he would be “dating her in ten years” because even when you’re a child, you’re just a future object for Trump to ogle and grope and he’s counting down the days.
Republicans just can’t seem to believe these women because Trump has proved himself to be on such high moral grounds before all these stories started spilling out. Give me a break.
“And when you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything.”
It’s certainly proving to be true.
