Bless his heart. George W. Bush really is a sort of lovable knucklehead sometimes. He was in attendance at the Smithsonian Institute’s new African-American history museum, when he met his nemesis — A smartphone.
Dubya was hanging out with another attendee of the ceremony when he wanted to snap a small group selfie of them. The whole smartphone thing seemed to be a bit much for him, as he struggled to operate the camera on the phone.
Not to be undone by modern technology, Dubya did the right thing — he asked for adult help. Luckily President Obama was right in front of him at the time, where he was engaged in greetings and conversation with other ceremony guests.
The Dubster didn’t miss a beat as he gave Obama a soft nudge to his back, then handed him the phone asking him to take a picture of him and his friends. Now, Obama was already busy. You can clearly see him talking to other people at the time he was suddenly interrupted. So what did he do?
What President Obama “did” was be an adult. He took the camera, and after a quick how-to, kindly obliged his predecessor and snapped a picture for them.
Could you imagine if Trump was in Obama’s place? He’d probably have threatened to have them both ejected from the event, even though it wasn’t even Trump’s ceremony. Maybe he’d have threatened to sue them. Or maybe he’d have gone on Twitter and complained about what total losers they were, and that he’d make smartphones so easy that even a Republican ex-president can use them.
It’s just simply refreshing to see an adult leading our country and not a bratty orange dumpling of irrational anger. Thanks, Obama, for defining class non stop for your entire 8-year term.
