A man armed with a sledgehammer and a pickax destroyed Donald Trump’s Hollywood Walk of Fame star on Wednesday while dressed as a city construction worker.
The man identified himself as Jamie Otis to Deadline when he explained his motivation for vandalizing the GOP presidential nominee’s star. Otis said he was trying to extract the star in order to auction it off in hopes of raising funds for the nearly one dozen women who have come forward to accuse Trump of sexually assaulting them.
“It was very difficult. The stone was like marble — hard to get through,” Otis said about an hour after the 5:45 a.m. incident. “It would have taken an hour.”
So instead, Otis took the sledgehammer and slammed it repeatedly into Trump’s name and logo.
Otis said he hopes he can sell the shattered pieces of the star.
“I’d like to try to go back and try to get the other part of the star,” Otis said, according to the Daily Breeze. “I just don’t know how to do that yet.”
Otis said he’s not worried about being arrested. “I’m not frightened of jail and I’m certainly not frightened of Mr. Trump,” he said.
“What punishment I get is fine,” Otis said.
“I destroyed the star, but considering the violence that has been committed (by Donald Trump) — I’m a little sad that I had to (damage the star),” Otis said. “I’m usually always non-violent. It seems in this one instance I broke some stone and marble to make a point.”
“I hope Mr. Trump understands that and gets the help he needs,” Otis said. He further explained that several members of his family were sexual assault victims.
Donald’s ‘grab them by the pussy’ remarks released in a leaked video have been costing the GOP presidential nominee more than the star. He’s losing support among women and Republicans. And recently, Donald has been attacking his accusers and threatening to sue them.
We do not condone vandalism here but that took balls. Oh, and an axe.
