Welcome to Trump’s America folks. He hasn’t even been inaugurated yet and hatred is already erupting throughout the nation. Students at a school in Pennsylvania were caught on video marching through the halls with a Trump sign and shouting “White Power.”
York NAACP President Sandra Thompson revealed the disturbing incident on Wednesday in a Facebook post. She said that she had been receiving unsettling reports of York Vo-Tech students “being spit on, attacked, and called names because of their race or perceived Immigrant status.”
She added that “we can only act on official reports and must hear from the persons affected or witness to it.”
So a concerned parent shared this video, showing a group of students waving a Trump sign as they terrorize their fellow students by chanting “White Power.”
Parents of York County School of Technology Students, a group of parents, took to Facebook to voice their concerns as well. The group wrote that members had also heard reports that when “Trump’s presidential win was announced at school today amidst chants of ‘white power.’ That white students referred to other races as their slaves, and at some points even spit on those students.”
“I think we should all have a chat tonight with our students, whether they were participating, appalled bystanders, or victims,” the group recommended. “This whole situation is absolutely horrible.”
Racial tensions at the school have been rising, but Trump’s misogyny and brags of sexual assault also seemed to have had an impact on these children. One student reported that another student had grabbed her breast and informed her that “it was his right.” The incidents are currently under investigation by the school.
This is not the only incident of this type that has taken place at a school this week. Similar situations have taken place in schools across the country. The scariest part of all this? We are only two days into Donald Trump’s presidency, and we have four years to go.
