Ted Cruz infuriated conservatives on Wednesday night when he failed to endorse Donald Trump during his speech at the Republican National Convention and told them to “vote their conscience.” (Because that is apparently a bad thing now.) It is unclear exactly how he thought his words would be received but things don’t seem to be going how he thought it would. After he was booed off the stage, he was reportedly denied a visit with Sheldon Adelson “because he’s a piece of shit.”
According to the Independent Journal Review, the Texas senator was denied entry into the billionaire GOP donor’s luxury box at the Quicken Loans arena. Cruz was stopped at the door when he tried to enter because several other attendees inside the suite were furious with his failure to endorse Trump and Adelson turned him away.
Adelson’s refusal to allow Cruz’s visit came after an altercation at the elevators where Washington State Republican Party chairman Susan Hutchison went bonkers on him. The incident got so out of control that security had to step in and usher Cruz and his wife into the elevators. An anonymous source who witnessed the scene said that she called him a “traitor” and “security kind of stepped in. Cruz folks dragged him and Heidi into an elevator and security kind of pushed her the other way. Wasn’t like anyone got arrested, it was just really dramatic.”
Hutchinson confirmed that she had indeed called Cruz a “traitor to the party.”
I just told him I thought his speech was inexcusable, and I was so disappointed in him,” Hutchison said. “I was angry, everybody was angry. You heard everybody booing him. We were astounded at what he did.”
When it became clear that Cruz’s speech was coming to an end and he had no intention of endorsing Trump, the crowd began to lose their shit, chanting “Endorse Trump! Endorse Trump!” and booing him angrily. The crowd also began to heckle his wife, Heidi, shouting “Goldman Sachs!” Security had to escort her off the floor.

Trump is a despicable excuse for a human being and the thought of him becoming president is downright terrifying. It almost seems that Cruz is deserving of a little respect for refusing to endorse the second coming of Hitler. But that would require that we ignore what a self-serving and abhorrent excuse for a human being Ted Cruz is in his own right. Cruz had been described as the most hated man in Washington but I have a feeling he just took things to a whole new level.
