The leader of the Travis County Republican Party in Texas is, well, he’s a strange dude — we’ll get into that. But Tuesday, when Donald Trump came to speak in his county, the GOP leader showed up with a giant red and white sign that said “Donald Trump is a child rapist,” and a jester hat and was promptly kicked off the public property.
Robert Morrow was elected as the leader of the Travis County GOP in March 2016. This may seem insignificant, but it was odd he was even elected, due to the fact that he constantly posts porn on Twitter, tells his followers that he’s horny, frequently uses the word “nigger,” and has no problem calling politicians out from either party on accusations of sex scandals. He’s tweeted about former Texas Governor Rick Perry being bisexual and believes Hillary Clinton is a lesbian, among a host of other Republican politicians. The guy is obsessed with people’s sex lives, illegal or legal.
Lately, Morrow’s latched onto the accusation by a woman who claims Donald Trump raped her when she was only 13-years-old. Unlike the accusations he’s lobbed at Perry and Clinton, there was actually a federal lawsuit filed against Trump.
Morrow showed up outside the Trump rally and yelled at the line of people waiting to get in, saying:
I’m here protesting Trump because he rapes 12-year-old girls.”
When asked to leave by Trump’s hired security, Morrow refused stating he was on taxpayer funded property. When the police showed up Morrow relented, and slowly made his way off the property, telling reporters:
Donald Trump is currently being sued in the New York federal law courts for raping a 13-year-old girl at a 1994 Jeffery Epstein party. I think it’s important for the party, the Republican Party, to utterly reject Donald Trump.
“It’s Donald Trump who has slaughtered the GOP nationwide. It might be an extinction level event, thanks to Donald Trump. We’re probably going to lose U.S. Senate races, we’re probably going to lose congressional races, we’re probably going to lose local races because Donald Trump is so unpopular with the voters, Republican voters are simply going to stay home.”
Morrow was once a Trump supporter back in the early primaries but voted for Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, but once the lawsuit against Trump was filed, he promptly switched to support the Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson. When it comes to sex scandals, Morrow doesn’t discriminate.
It’s hard to figure out how to take Morrow. At the surface, he’s batshit insane. Three levels below that surface, he’s still batshit insane. But his reasons for being anti-Trump are solid, sane, and reasonable. And while he believes wild conspiracies about the Clintons too, hats off to him for standing up to Travis County Trump supporters and telling them the truth about their presidential nominee and embarrassing the living daylights out of the Republican Party once again.
