Tony Schwartz is the man who had the unfortunate experience of being hired by Donald trump to ghostwrite “The Art of the Deal.” His time spent with Trump taught him much about the man on a personal level, as ghostwriters require an understanding of their subject that goes beyond quotes and newspaper clippings. They need to be able to portray themselves as that person. Imagine, if you will, that the person you have to portray is one of the world’s most despicable assholes.
The experience changed Schwartz, whose Twitter bio reads, “The Art of the Deal ghostwriter now speaking out. Passionate about transforming the way the world works.” He now dedicates his time to energy solutions and his tweets to mocking Donald Trump.
His latest is a stark reminder to those who would actually cast their vote for the giant lurking Cheeto that presidents are more than just chief executives, they are role models for our children. As a parent, this really hit home for me:
Imagine this: Trump alone in a room with your daughter. Trump as a role model for your son.

Not every president has been perfect. They have all been human. They have all had character flaws. The difference with Donald Trump is that he has nothing but. He doesn’t possess a single redeeming quality. Any charity he’s ever done has been for his own benefit. The loving relationship he has with his daughter Ivanka is undone by the standoffish demeanor Tiffany has towards him. His sons are entitled little douchebags. His business is built on the back of the misery of others.
He’s been divorced twice and sued 3500 times. He has zero respect for women and he’s a xenophobic, racist, homophobic fascist who wants the White House because he thinks it will complete some vendetta he has against President Obama for humiliating him in public at consecutive White House Correspondents’ Dinners.
That’s just a short list of reasons why Donald Trump will never be a good role model for our sons. As for the other portion of the tweet, it makes my skin crawl. It makes me physically ill. My daughters are six and 15-years-old. The little one with her golden blonde hair would be immediately pictured as an older young girl of the perfect age to be the object of Trump’s desire. My older daughter would be right in his perverted wheelhouse.
While there is no proof that Donald Trump ever touched his own daughters inappropriately, the way he looks at them, talks about them and treats them — especially Ivanka — combined with his belief that women are property leaves me no doubt that my daughters would be immediately objectified by this reprehensible Oompa Loompa.
While I do appreciate Tony Schwartz’s contributions to the destruction of Donald Trump, this tweet was more than I could bear.
