With Thursday reports of his latest upcoming appointment, President-elect Donald Trump may have erased all doubts as to whether or not his administration will be the most corrupt in U.S. history.
Jennifer Jacobs, White House reporter for Bloomberg Politics, reported on Twitter that Trump is finalizing a role in his administration for current Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, who’s currently working on Trump’s transition team.

When the Trump transition team was questioned about Bondi’s appointment, incoming press secretary Sean Spicer declined to confirm or deny the reports.
We have no additional announcements at this time,” Spicer said. “I don’t want to get ahead of any announcements that may or may not come.”
Bondi herself also declined to comment when questioned by the Tampa Bay Times. She only stated, “I’d never discuss anything confidential.”
In September 2013, a spokesperson for Bondi’s office revealed to the Orlando Sentinel that the Florida Attorney General’s office was considering joining the New York Attorney General’s case against Trump University. However, only four days after that statement, a pro-Bondi PAC became $25,000 richer after receiving a check from the Trump foundation. Then in October, Bondi’s offices quietly dropped the inquiry stating that “no action was necessary.”
A Trump representative claimed it was all a misunderstanding, that a clerical error was responsible for the payment, which was illegal. The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) prohibits charities from donating to politicians and ordered Trump to reimburse his foundation for the $25,000 and pay a $2,500 fine to the IRS. Bondi also denied any impropriety.
So now, Donald Trump is going to hire a public official who he allegedly bribed to drop a criminal investigation, and Republicans are busy looking up at the sky whistling with their hands in their pockets. Or worse — they’re trying to deflect by mentioning the Clinton foundation or any other shiny red herring they can throw out to distract from talking about Trump’s ever deepening pool of corruption.
Is this going to be the new American standard when it comes to the presidency? Are the American people really going to let an immature, morally bankrupt sexual predator continue to drag their country’s reputation through the sewer for the next four years? At this point, Trump’s corruption is so out in the open, so brazen and upfront, that it seems to have stunned most of the mainstream media. They’re even having debates on whether or not to call his lies “lies.”
Trump has succeeded in forcing American news establishments to question their role in society, which has always been to speak truth to power. Or at least, that’s what we were led to believe. Maybe Trump didn’t change the mainstream media, maybe it was rotten well before Trump decided to descend down his golden escalator. Or perhaps, as was the case with the millions of disenchanted frustrated voters who elected him, Trump just pulled the already exposed loose thread a bit harder than anyone else and unraveled what was already falling apart.
