Donald trump is a real piece of work. After video surfaced of him talking about how he gropes women ( or “grabs them by the p*ssy” as he so eloquently puts it), people — even conservatives, the people who normally cheerlead this sort of thing — began demanding an apology. The video was shot behind-the-scenes at NBC’s “Access Hollywood,” and shows clearly what Trump is like behind-the-scenes:
“And when you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything… Grab them by the pussy. You can do anything.”
Early Saturday morning, Trump finally leaped into action with possibly the most disingenuous nonapology one can imagine. Trump didn’t apologize for saying the things he said. Rather, he apologized “if anyone was offended” by the horrible remarks, which he dismissed as “locker room banter” — despite that it occurred out in the open at the taping of a television show.
“Anyone who knows me knows these words don’t reflect who I am,” The Donald said, even though those words were not spoken for the benefit of an audience — they were said in ‘private.’
After spending 20 seconds or so apologizing if the remarks “offended” anyone, Trump moved on to attacking future First Lady Bill Clinton, promising more ridiculous assaults in the days to come.
