Donald Trump desperately tried to claim that Hillary Clinton is mentally unfit to be president on Thursday, and it didn’t go well.
That’s because he actually thought it was Friday.
In a mental slip up that demonstrates Trump’s own unfitness to be the leader of the free world, the Republican nominee referred to the day as Friday on two occasions during his rally in Kissimmee, Florida even though supporters repeatedly yelled that it was Thursday. Ironically, Trump was talking about Hillary’s “short circuit” moments prior.
“Now, Hillary Clinton, commonly referred to as ‘Crooked Hillary.’ Hillary Clinton gave a speech today having to do with economic development, having to do with a lot of different things. Short speech, always very short. You know? She makes the speech, she turns off the teleprompter. Look, what happens, she gives a short speech then she goes home, goes to sleep, she shows up two days later. Remember, short circuit. Remember that, right? Short circuit.”
Clinton claimed she “short-circuited” to explain an answer given during an interview in response to a question about her meeting with the FBI about her emails.
“I watched Hillary today, which was really boring,” Trump continued. “It’s hard to watch. I have an obligation to watch. Fortunately she never goes on very long because she wants to go home.”
And then that’s when it happened. Trump literally short-circuited and twice forgot what day it was.
“By the way, is there any place to be that’s better than a Friday night in Florida at a Trump rally? No place.”
Trump’s fans tried to alert him that it was, in fact, Thursday. But he either didn’t hear them or thought he was right. “We joke. It’s Friday night and we’re having fun,” Trump said later on.
Here’s the video via YouTube. Trump’s first flub on the date is at the 12 minute mark.
Elsewhere in Trump’s speech he once again bragged about how he is going to build a wall and how he is going to make sure American companies don’t send jobs overseas even though Trump’s wall would cost billions to build and he outsources jobs to other countries to produce shirts and ties for his clothing line. David Letterman famously nailed Trump for doing this during a show in 2013 and Hillary Clinton turned the whole thing into a devastating campaign ad which you can view here.
But the bottom line is that Trump screwed up yet again on the campaign trail and proved once more that Republicans should be embarrassed that they made this guy the leader of their party.
