Donald Trump was being interviewed by local news in Las Vegas when he was asked about his history of shaming women about their weight. Reporter Jim Snyder tried to frame it by putting Trump into the shoes of parents with daughters who may struggle with body image issues on a daily basis.
“You have two beautiful daughters past their teenage years, can you understand the concern from parents of younger girls that some of your comments could be hurtful to girls struggling with body image and the pressure to be model perfect?”
Trump then said, “A lot of that was done for the purpose of entertainment, there’s nobody that has more respect for women than I do.”
It’s so clear now. Trump doesn’t actually hate fat women — he only helps other people to hate fat women. This is done by publicly shaming them for entertainment purposes only. Any actual negativity originates with the end listener, and Trump Inc. is not responsible.
If he had only explained this before, I am sure all the women who he’s humiliated throughout his life for being unattractive because of their weight would understand that they were wrong to be offended and that Donald is the only real victim here.
