It always seems like Donald Trump is living in his own alternate reality, but every now and then he says something that lets you know just how delusional he really is. On Tuesday, he did just that when he tweeted out a bizarre message, written in the third person, about how he had magically fixed the economy before he even takes the oath of office.
“The U.S. Consumer Confidence Index for December surged nearly four points to 113.7, THE HIGHEST LEVEL IN MORE THAN 15 YEARS!” he tweeted out. “Thanks Donald!” he added, even though it’s hard to imagine how he could possibly be responsible for this even in an alternate reality.

As the Washington Post reports, Trump is going to be handed an economy that is nothing short of a gift. The unemployment rate is currently at 4.6 percent, the lowest it has been since before the great recession and wages have risen.
“Gas prices remain low, as does overall inflation. Meanwhile, stocks have reached all-time highs, with the Dow Jones industrial average on the cusp of 20,000. Gross domestic product growth for the third quarter was revised upward last week, to 3.5 percent.”
As much as Trump may wish he could take the credit, this accomplishment is all the product of President Obama’s hard work. Meanwhile, the incoming presidential buffoon is likely to destroy the economy in record time.
The Post explains that Trump “plans to usher through a major stimulus package early in his administration, including massive personal and corporate income-tax cuts and a public-private $1 trillion infrastructure plan.” This plan will give a short boost to the economy, but then the economy will enter a downwards spiral. Under Trump, we will almost certainly see another recession and thanks to his initial and unneeded stimulus package, there will be nothing left to bail us out when we actually need it. Sad!
