Hey, remember how Trump trashed a fire marshal for refusing, for safety reasons, to allow more people into an event on Friday? New information reveals exactly how big of a scumbag Trump is.
Trump said that Colorado Springs Fire Marshal Brett Lacey must be a Hillary Clinton supporter because he would not allow more people inside his rally than could safely be in the building. According to Trump, these sorts of heavy-handed liberal regulations are why America “doesn’t work”:
“So I have to tell you this. This is why our country doesn’t work. We have plenty of space here. We have thousands of people outside trying to get in. And we have a fire marshal that said, ‘Oh we can’t allow more people.’”
“The reason they won’t let them in is because they don’t know what the hell they’re doing,” Trump added. “That’s why, okay? Too bad. That’s why our country has — hey, maybe they’re a Hillary person. Could that be possible? Probably. I don’t think there are too many of them. I don’t think there are too many of them.”
Lacey, who was named “Civilian of the Year” for his work after the right-wing media-inspired Colorado Springs Planned Parenthood massacre may or may not be a Clinton supporter (he has not said anything publicly on the matter) but he isn’t bothered by Trump’s nonsensical smear campaign.
“There’s an old adage that when a fire marshal walks into a room, milk curdles. So because we’re always looking out for public safety and trying to make certain venues go off successfully and safely sometimes there are people that aren’t very happy with some of the rules and regulations were required to enforce. But it doesn’t bother me at all,” Lacey told KKTV. He had determined that about 1,500 people could fit into the main room, and another 1,000 into the overflow room. When Trump tried to bring more inside, police were forced to turn them away.
KKTV reports that Trump was late to the rally, but managed to attend thanks to help from the very same department he trashed. The Donald’s elevator had gotten stuck between the first and second floors of The Mining Exchange Hotel at around 1:30. Nine other individuals were trapped in the elevator with him, and were forced to be in his presence for a short time while Colorado Springs firefighters worked to rescue him.
“The firefighters were able to secure the elevator, open the top elevator hatch, lower a ladder into the elevator which allowed all individuals to self-evacuate, including Mr. Trump, onto the second floor lobby area,” Steven Wilch with the CSFD explained.
No injures were reported, and thanks to their hard work and skill he was able to attend the rally and spew hate aimed at the Fire Marshal.
