It’s not often that Barbara Bush sits in front of a camera, but she did just that in an interview with CBS This Morning in February. The former First Lady took advantage of the opportunity to unleash on Trump — in her traditional low-key manner, of course.
Mrs. Bush said that Trump acts like a “comedian or something” rather than someone who is actually trying to become President, but then she ripped him to shreds for how he treats women — particularly Fox News’ Megyn Kelly:
What about women? I don’t know how women could vote for someone who said what he said about Megyn Kelly. It’s terrible! And we knew what he meant too.
Bush was, of course, referencing Trump’s numerous attacks on Kelly simply for being a woman, most notably his infamous “blood coming out of her wherever” remark when she oh-so-unfairly– confronted him with actual facts (which is rare for her).
Mrs. Bush warned anchor Norah O’Donnell not to “get in his firing line” because of how horrible Trump is.
“Money doesn’t buy everything,” Barbara said. “It’s accomplishments and what you’re doing in giving. It’s incomprehensible to me” that Trump is the nominee.
