Black Friday is the day when millions of Americans line up around the block and fight each other to give corporate retail stores money for crap that probably would have gone on sale anyway.
Every year, people obsess over Black Friday deals and are willing to spend lots of money for whatever they find “on sale.”
So Cards Against Humanity, which has mocked Black Friday repeatedly in past years with all sorts of stunts, decided to dig a “Holiday Hole” to mock the day this year. People can literally spend their money to make sure the hole is dug as deep as possible.
So far, over $36,000 has been raised so that the workers can keep digging. You can help dig the hole for 28 seconds just by donating $15.
It’s an addicting thing to watch live, too. Just ask my boss. He has spent over an hour watching the hole get deeper and deeper.
According to the FAQs page, “You’re supposed to think it’s funny. You might not get it for a while, but sometime next year you’ll chuckle quietly to yourself and remember all this business about the hole.”
In response to the question of what will happen if the workers hit hot magma, Cards Against Humanity said, “At least then we’d feel something.”
Here’s the live feed via YouTube.
Frankly, instead of digging a hole for Black Friday, how about we throw Donald Trump in it?
At least then the hole would have a physical purpose. I bet more people would donate to have that hole dug. People might even volunteer their own shovels.
