Brianna Keilar strikes again.
Republicans still have not learned their lesson from all the other failed interviews they’ve had with CNN host Brianna Keilar, who has taken down many Trump supporters in just the last week alone.
So when GOP Rep. Sean Duffy showed up to defend Trump on Tuesday it went disastrously once again.
This time, the topic was Hillary Clinton’s health and how Trump’s campaign and his Republican allies have viciously used any little twitch or cough as proof that she is somehow sick while touting Trump’s fake doctor note as proof that he’s as fit as a fiddle.
“Who doesn’t occasionally cough?” Keilar asked Duffy.
“A cough is one thing,” Duffy said. “A coughing fit is something else, where it is a cough on end. You’ve seen nothing on the Trump side that would lead you to believe he is nothing but healthy.”
Of course, any person of any age can have a sudden coughing fit without it having to do with anything regarding overall health. Sometimes a cough a just a cough.
Keilar, however, turned the tables on Duffy and told him that he has no proof that Trump is healthy either.
“Well there’s nothing that would lead you to believe he is healthy, Congressman. His letter from his doctor is borderline ridiculous when you talk to other doctors who looked at it.”
Indeed, Trump’s notorious letter from his alleged doctor touts the Republican nominee’s “extraordinarily excellent” health and refers to him as the healthiest person ever elected to the presidency” if he wins in November. It sounds like Trump wrote the letter himself or at least told his doctor what to write.
Duffy defended the unfounded speculation about Hillary’s health by claiming that if Trump displayed a cough during a speech that the media would play it relentlessly.
“It sounds like you’re trafficking in these conspiracy theories as well,” Keilar replied. “You’re saying because she is coughing she’s not as healthy as Donald Trump.”
Keilar slammed Duffy for peddling Trump’s attack on Hillary’s health, which led Duffy to whine about Keilar bringing it up in the first place. And that’s when she got Duffy to commit a gaffe.
DUFFY: I’m not peddling the theory of health. You brought it up.
Keilar: I’m allowed to ask about it. You’re peddling it.
DUFFY: That’s right.
Keilar: That IS right.
Humiliated on live television, Duffy desperately tried to change the subject but Keilar refused to let him tell other lies to cover up his gaffe.
Brianna Keilar is a rock star journalist right now. She has taken down every Trump supporter she has interviewed lately and it doesn’t sound like she intends to go easy on them any time soon. The rest of the media would be wise to follow her lead, because this is how real journalists are supposed to do their jobs.
