We’re long past the point of whether or not we should care if someone said a bad word on TV to describe Donald Trump. We have the essence of what’s worst in America all concentrated into one flabby, orange-skinned loser, and he just happens to be one step away from the Presidency of the United States. This asks the important question – Why the hell haven’t we been saying more of what Fareed Zakaria said in the interview below?
Wolf Blitzer was doing a short interview with Fareed Zakaria on CNN, where the topic was Trump’s knowledge of current events, his responses to them, then his constant need to backpedal and “correct” those responses so they sound more like an adult said them instead of an 8-year-old who drank too much sugar and caffeine.
As they were discussing Trump’s apparent inability to actually know what he’s talking about, and his habit of covering it up with bluster, bravado, and ignorant statements, Fareed said what really really really needed to be said about Trump by our mainstream news for almost a year.
Perhaps Fareed’s moment of modest bravery in speaking an unvarnished and unedited truth will catch on. Maybe more news outlets will remember what it means to be one.
Watch Fareed say what needed to be said for months below:
