Fox News gets called out for their bullshit a lot. But it’s way better when someone does it in person like D.L. Hughley did on Wednesday night.
During an appearance on The Kelly File, the black comedian shredded Fox News to Megyn Kelly’s face while discussing the unjust shooting of Philando Castile by police officers in Minneapolis.
Hughley pointed out that whenever a police officer shoots a black man they are automatically presumed to be innocent while the dead black guy never even got that chance. The cops just play judge, jury, and executioner without consequences.
Kelly then played the part of the uppity white woman who thinks she can tell a black man what to do, which didn’t go down very well as Hughley stood up for himself and black men everywhere.
“The only place racism doesn’t exist is Fox News and the police department,” Hughley said sarcastically, in reference to the fact that Fox News believes racism doesn’t exist in America anymore. “That’s absolutely true.”
“That’s insulting,” a shocked Kelly responded. “You just insulted millions of people watching this channel.”
And the quick-witted funnyman didn’t give a shit about the feelings of people who don’t give a damn about the lives of black people.
“And I’m insulted by the things I hear on this network, so we’re even,” Hughley said. “I could care less about insulting people that insult me on a daily basis.”
Oh, SNAP! That had to sting. But Hughley wasn’t done yet.
Kelly tried to shame Hughley for calling out racism by saying that he couldn’t prove that systemic racism exists in police departments. But Hughley came armed with facts and he promptly slapped Kelly in the forehead with them.
Specifically, Hughley pointed out a 2006 report by the FBI warning that white supremacists are infiltrating police departments across the country. You know, so they can shoot black people and get away with it because they can hide behind their badge in the same way conservative “Christians” hide behind their Bible to get away with being a bigot.
“I don’t know a black man that hasn’t had a run-in with police,” Hughley claimed. “From the highest to the lowest…My perspective on this is based on the experience I’ve had, just as yours are. So I am not willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.”
Here’s the video via YouTube.
This was an incredibly tense interview but Hughley stood his ground and refused to let the conservative network that is number one with old white people intimidate him.
