During a CNN town hall event on Tuesday night, a Republican student named Zachary Marcone called out Ryan for supporting Donald Trump even though he has spewed some of the most hateful and divisive rhetoric in the history of presidential elections in this country.
“I cannot and will not support Trump,” Marcone declared. “It concerns me when the Republican leadership is supporting somebody who’s blatantly racist and has said Islamophobic statements, wants to shut down our borders. How can you morally justify your support for this kind of candidate, somebody who could be very destructive?”
Ryan side-stepped defending his morality and chose to defend Donald Trump instead by insisting that while Trump is a racist who has viciously attacked just about everyone Marcone should vote for the Republican nominee if it means defeating Hillary Clinton.
“You’re going to help elect Hillary Clinton,” Ryan scolded. “And I don’t think Hillary Clinton is gonna support any of the things you stand for if you’re a Republican.”
I felt obligated to speak out when I saw something that was wrong, when I heard something that was wrong, that didn’t reflect my views or the views of fellow conservatives and Republicans. I think it’s important, no matter what the circumstances, you speak out for what you believe in.
But Paul Ryan still supports Trump, which really is morally unjustifiable. And the only reason he is doing so is because he believes Donald Trump will nominate conservative extremists to the Court who will green light any of the destructive policies Republicans pass in Congress, which will get a rubber stamp from Trump.
Basically, getting the puppet they want in the White House is more important than integrity and morality.

Donald Trump is cruel and he would be America’s first fascist president if elected in November. But that doesn’t bother Paul Ryan. Ryan is only interested in absolute power. He wants to destroy the government from within and he believes Trump will do that. The only problem is that there won’t be a government to destroy if Trump destroys the world. After all, he’ll have the nuclear codes and has stated on the record that he wouldn’t rule out using nuclear weapons in Europe or the Middle East.
And as we all know, absolute Republican control of this country means voter suppression, no healthcare, and an economy that only benefits the wealthy. So while Ryan is beaming at the prospect of a conservative government that has zero checks and zero balances, he is signing America’s death certificate in doing so.
