There are a lot of things you expect to encounter on your way to work in the morning. Traffic, bad weather, even the rare flat tire. One thing’s for sure, though. Nobody goes to work thinking that they’re going to be involved in a gun fight, let alone having it be their last day of life. That’s sadly what happened to Deborah Pearl.
Shortly after 7am, Matthew Desha ran a red light at an intersection that Pearl was driving through, smashing into her car. His jeep flipped over a few times, as her car was pushed into the intersection. Pearl got out of her car and tried to figure out just what happened and how bad it was. Desha got out of his jeep as well, except he had an assault rifle in his hands.
That’s when it went from bad to worse. Desha approached Pearl, who saw him advancing at her and raised her hands in an attempt to save herself from death. Sadly, it didn’t work.
Witnesses described the scene. After Pearl raised her hands, Desha started firing his rifle into Pearl who was screaming as she fell to the ground from multiple bullet wounds. Desha was arrested at the scene, and has been charged with murder.
Thank God this guy was carrying a gun! Just look how well he protected society from all the terrorists hiding in the bushes by the fact that he was able to legally purchase an assault rifle and carry it with him everywhere he went.
The best part? Desha was charged this past June for one felony count of carrying a concealed weapon, as well as additional drug-related charges. Somehow, this was not enough of a reason to take away his assault rifle, despite the fact he was clearly a “bad guy with a gun” at the time.
Now we have woman dead at the hands of another domestic terrorist, and no, it isn’t an exaggeration to call him that. He was a man who wanted to kill, and was looking for any reason to do it. He had an assault rifle in his vehicle. Even a person armed for “self-defense” with a handgun, which is dangerous enough, doesn’t normally feel the need to carry a high capacity murder machine. I’m sure it’s HER fault, though, because she didn’t plan ahead and carry her own assault rifle … or at least that’s what the NRA would want you to believe.
